Data We Collect
Jibe collects only the information necessary to coordinate group trips:
- Member names — the display name you choose when joining a trip
- Availability dates — the dates you mark as available, unavailable, or flexible
- Trip preferences — preferred trip length, PTO limits, and start day preferences
- Cookies — signed member IDs stored as httpOnly cookies to identify you across sessions
- Analytics — IP address, country, city, user agent, device type, and page views for service improvement
How We Use It
- Coordinating trip availability among group members
- Identifying you within your trip so you can return to it
- Improving the service through anonymous analytics
- Processing feedback submitted through the app
Data Storage
Trip data is stored in a secure, hosted database. Cookies are used for session management and are cryptographically signed for integrity. No data is stored on your device beyond browser cookies and your theme preference.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties. Your availability and preferences are visible only to other members of the same trip.
Data Retention
Trip data (including member names, availability, and preferences) persists until the trip creator deletes the trip, at which point all associated data is permanently removed. Analytics data is retained for service improvement purposes.
Cookies
- Member session cookies — signed httpOnly cookies that identify you within a trip (1-year expiry)
- Admin session cookies — signed httpOnly cookies for admin access (24-hour expiry)
- Theme preference — stored in localStorage to remember your light/dark mode choice
Your Rights
You have control over your data:
- Trip creators can delete their trip at any time, which permanently removes all trip data including all member information
- Trip creators can remove individual members, deleting their availability and preferences
- You can clear your browser cookies to remove your session data
- You can contact us via the in-app "Report a problem" feature to request data deletion
