Information We Collect

Jibe collects only what is necessary to coordinate group trips.

Information you provide:

• Display name you choose when joining a trip
• Dates you mark as available, maybe, or blocked
• Trip preferences such as preferred length and start day
• Email address, if you choose to provide one for notifications
• Feedback or bug reports you submit

Information collected automatically:

• Device category (mobile, desktop, or tablet) and country code for anonymous analytics
• Cookies necessary for the Service to function (see Cookies section below)

We do not collect or store IP addresses, user agents, or advertising identifiers.

How We Use Your Information

• Providing and operating the Service, including real-time availability coordination
• Identifying you within your trip across sessions
• Calculating optimal travel windows for your group
• Sending email notifications you have opted into (trip updates, reminders)
• Improving the Service based on aggregate, anonymous usage patterns

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

• With your trip group — your display name, availability, and preferences are visible to other members of the same trip
• Service providers — we use third-party services for email delivery, error monitoring, and hosting. These providers process data only as necessary to perform their services and are bound by their own privacy policies
• Legal requirements — if required by law, regulation, or legal process

Data Retention

Trip data persists until the trip creator deletes the trip, at which point all associated data is permanently removed. Inactive trips with no activity are automatically deleted after 30 days. Anonymous analytics data is retained for 90 days.

Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure cookie handling, and access controls on our databases. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

Cookies

Jibe uses only functional cookies necessary to operate the Service. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

• Session cookies — identify you within your trips so you can return across visits
• Preferences — remember your theme choice and holiday country setting

Your Rights

• Trip creators can delete their trip at any time, permanently removing all associated data
• Trip creators can remove individual members from their trip
• You can clear your browser cookies to remove session data from your device
• You can unsubscribe from email notifications at any time using the link in any email
• You can request deletion of your data by contacting us

Children's Privacy

Jibe is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
